Our three day activity was so much fun! Everyone loved every step, not just the eating cookies and candy part! Some of the gingerbread cookies made their way home, I hope you all got to have a try. From their little hands to you!
Here are the steps we followed:
Once again, AcadeCap students participated in a successful tree planting at our local park. Joined by members of both the City of Ottawa and Tree Ottawa, we planted the trees in record time! Great work everyone!
We had a lovely day at the Agriculture Museum yesterday. Our workshop was a great mix listening and participating and we certainly learned a lot, adults included ;) The museum was full of fun attractions and animals, we explored the grounds after a nice picnic lunch.
Today, we had so much fun making paper with the scraps from our recycling center! After a short chat about what we were going to do and all the steps required, we got to work. We started by tearing the scrap paper into small pieces, an exercise that is great for our little fingers. Then we took turns to fill the blender with paper and water. Once we finished blending the paper and water...into something that was described in some very funny ways...we were ready to use the mesh and felt to make our sheets. In teams, we took turns inserting the mesh frames into our mix and then flattening them down and squeezing excess water with the felt sheets. Everyone worked so great together and we are really excited to see how our paper will turn out!
Yesterday, we were invited to the grade 1-2 class to watch their Makey Makey projects in action. They spent time with each student explaining how it worked and letting them try it out! Thanks so much!
