Here are the steps we followed:
- read the whole recipe, from start to finish (learning lots of French words!)
- doubled the recipe (lots of math involved here!)
- wrote down the doubled recipe on large chart paper for reference (reviewing French vocab!)
- ensured we had all the proper equipment and ingredients, reread the recipe from start to finish once more (learning about being prepared and organized)
- started following the steps for making the dough (learning that we must closely follow instructions, especially in baking)
- wrapped up the dough and let it rest in the fridge during music class (learning to be patient)
- did the dishes! (learning responsibility)
- rolled out the dough and began cutting out shapes (using our motor skills!)
- cleaned up! (more responsibility)
- waited patiently for the following day (A LOT of patience involved here)
- prepared the icing (taking turns)
- began decorating (creativity at work)
- ate delicious cookies!
