Each pumpkin will also have a name, their characteristics and their name will be part of their pumpkin identity! The green pumpkin we explored today is named Gorper thanks to a classroom vote. Stay tuned for more pumpkin updates!
This morning, we used our 5 senses to investigate the first of three very different looking pumpkins. We documented our findings on big chart paper and will later compare each of the pumpkins. Today's pumpkin was so incredibly hard and the top was so incredibly thick that the we had to break it in half, it is back together with yellow duct tape, looks very halloweeny! Each pumpkin will also have a name, their characteristics and their name will be part of their pumpkin identity! The green pumpkin we explored today is named Gorper thanks to a classroom vote. Our morning was full of pumpkin carving fun, ooey gooey pumpkin pulp and digging for yummy pumpkin seeds! While waiting for our turn to help, we talked about pumpkin adjectives...in French and English! Thanks Mme Alex for carving our pumpkin! What a busy day, it flew by! We started off with a Jiu Jitsu class, fully dressed in our costumes! That was fun! After circle time, we decorated paper bags with Halloween stamps and paint so we can keep all our precious candies safe. We wrote our names and Happy Halloween on the bags to practice our writing and to not mix up our bags of course! After snack, we did self portraits of ourselves in our Halloween costumes and wrote what we were dressed as...more writing practice! Just before lunch, in English class, we read a Halloween story and wrote and drew in our journals about what we would do for Halloween night! Trick-or-treating of course! After lunch and recess, we took a little break; rested, read some books. The just before our Halloween party, we did some measurement. We measured ourselves using pumpkins, the average student was 14 pumpkins tall (pics will be posted tomorrow)! At the end of the day, we had our Halloween party, we shared candies, ate popcorn and even eyeballs! Then we had a dance party, and boy did we dance! A fun Halloween day! |
