The JK students should be so proud of their efforts in the Terry Fox Run yesterday afternoon. Looking at that large track could have felt quite overwhelming but they were brave and enthusiastic! By the end, they were very happy with the amount of laps they had done! When we got back to school, our usual yoga lesson became a school wide lesson! The kindergarten kids were the experts, of course, since we have already had lessons with Mme Katie!

Today, we officially began our experiment for the science fair. Each grown plant and each glass pot with a pea seed is labelled to show what we are watering it with. Today, I modelled just how much of each liquid we should water the plants and growing seeds with and going forward, the students will be responsible for it. Every few days, we will observe the plants to see what's happening! We will document our observations and the changes in our science journals.
Caught a few shots of the students with their violins when I went to pick them up at the end of their lesson, will have to catch them playing on Thursday!
Last week, we discovered that mixing the primary colours results in so much magic! We also listened to the song below this video, all about the 3 primary colours. Yesterday, we worked quite a bit on French language skills. We started our word tree, adding a couple of unit related vocabulary, en français, we'll continue adding to the word tree as we go. We went on to reading the story of 'u, la charette magique', from Raconte-moi l'alphabet, but not before saying bonjour and then au revoir to all the characters we already know (a, e, i, and o)! A few other alphabet activities followed. We began our alphabet documenting poster and then played a fun game of BINGO! And so our science fair project begins! We have already decided on the question we will be trying to find answers to, discussed our predictions, and made our plans. Below are a few pictures of the students working on documenting the process using the scientific method. We still have to fill out the 3rd step, how we plan to implement to experiment, and then we will begin!
