Here, we are working on many math skills such as counting, number recognition, one to one correspondence and subitizing. We worked in groups of two, taking turns to choose a number and placing the correct amount of tiles in square.

Here, students were using Unifix cubes to represent various addition facts. They chose two colours, stacked each colour together separately and added them together to find the total. Once their addition fact was verified using a calculator, they wrote it down on a sticky note and posted it to our math fact spot in the class. Each correct math fact earned a sticker on the sticky note!
Pictured below are some of the math activities we've been exploring these past few weeks. Place value, number facts (addition mainly and some subtraction), writing numbers and counting.
Recently, students have been exploring this fun math manipulative called base 10 blocks. Among their many uses, their primary purpose is to help teach math concepts such as place value, counting and number sense. We have now learned that each type of block represents a number. We used them to add and of course, to build!
