Our first unit is about learning environments. Below is a picture of our dramatic play area, set up as a little class. I invited the students to come and play pretend school and as I sat, listening and observing their play, I got to know more about what they know around the topic of schools. This is one of the many ways I am able to assess their prior knowledge as well as how we typically begin our inquiry cycle! It also gets students thinking about the topic at hand. Soon, we will come up with questions that will drive our inquiry into learning environments!
