Yesterday, we worked quite a bit on French language skills. We started our word tree, adding a couple of unit related vocabulary, en français, we'll continue adding to the word tree as we go. We went on to reading the story of 'u, la charette magique', from Raconte-moi l'alphabet, but not before saying bonjour and then au revoir to all the characters we already know (a, e, i, and o)! A few other alphabet activities followed. We began our alphabet documenting poster and then played a fun game of BINGO!

Here is the beautiful pile of magical books from the public library! Lots to learn and discover about families and how some people document their family history as well.
Our unit about earth cycles is about to wrap up, it has been a very interesting unit, engaging for the students and so much fun for Miss Andrea and I to teach. Yesterday, students began one of the final projects, making a book of only 4 pages with each page depicting a season. The book will be made in a few stages, beginning with the drawings, then adding the text and finally presenting the book to the class. They are already looking beautiful!
Part of English class today consisted of a game where students had to jump to each circle and read the sight word. They did so well that Mme Andrea had to add more circles and more words! Great work everyone!
Today, we reviewed the letters A, B, C and D from Raconte-moi l'alphabet and then sorted out words that began with those letters. Students were tasked with choosing words and pasting them on the appropriate paper. Once all the words were sorted and pasted, we reviewed the sheets with the pasted words and made sure they were in the right spot. The students listened very carefully, putting their sense of hearing to the test, as each word was read aloud. We spotted a few mistakes and corrected them! Good job everyone!
When we introduce or reintroduce letters, we explore them in a variety of ways. Below are a few pictures of the letter b we wrote all by ourselves and the buttons we glued on the b. Before we printed the b on our construction paper, we practiced writing them properly on the tables using chalk. Love using chalk on the tables!
