This morning, we explored patters a few different ways. Action patters, sound patterns and patterns using all the colourful figures you see below. It was especially exciting for each of the students to take turns choosing a set of actions to make a pattern with. We had jumping and turning and running on the spot, a math lesson with lots of movement!

For so many reasons, our change in the morning routine is going incredibly well. Students that may not have otherwise had as many opportunities to engage in free play with their peers are doing so and for the friends that are just arriving, it is calm and inviting. When it's time to clean up, everyone is happy to do so and ready to begin the day. Routine change, success! Marbles were the main attraction this morning, counting, weighing and comparing sizes!
Thursday's English classes will consist of a few centers for the children to explore. Today, Miss Andrea introduced the students to Tumble Books, which is a library of eBooks. A writing center with Miss Andrea, magnet center and unit books center were among the others to choose from.
Today was our second Jiu Jitsu class of the school year and everyone that didn't already have a gi received theirs today! We had a great class with Mr Phil, working on various stances and playing listening games.
This morning, the kindergarten and preschool kids spent some time shucking corn for this evening's corn roast. Thank you for all the help, they really worked out their little muscles!
Today we did a few activities with the letter A including reading a story from Raconte-moi l'alphabet. We learned about the little girl named A that had a very bad toothache. She made the sound 'aaaaaaaaaa' until she finally went to the dentist to see what was wrong! We practiced writing the letter A on the table with chalk and went on a hunt for the letter A around the classroom. A little bricolage and building A's with sticks to finish off our A day!
